So I just had some inspiration slap me in the face to start working on choons again.

So here's a sample of a new one I'm working on.

I made it in Reason, for the fuck of it, I usually use Logic, and probably from here on after this tune is completed will Logic be used, reason just has such a cheese sound......

Anyway..... this again, is just a sample of some new inspiration that is coming my way.

Constructive criticism is always appreciated, just remember this is no way; mixed down, completed or mastered.  Just a rough feel of the new sounds coming your way, via TROX.

Hope you enjoy it.  More to come!

**edit - final is complete!

Hmmm.... Pretty solid tune, I guess you could have a mix with vocals in it, that'd be tight.

Good tune... definitely grimey. Don't have a whole lot of constructive criticism as this is a work in progress... most of what I have to say would be on the mix/master.

The one thing I do have to say is about the structure of the song. It all sounds really good and progresses well, except there doesn't seem to be a breathing point. At 1:20 it does kinda break down, except the sounds stay the same. So it's more like a mini break than an actual break. I think the tune would carry the energy a lot better if you had a section where it changes up... like a middle 8 or bridge or whatever you want to call it. The original theme would be re-energized when you drop it back in, by taking a break from it with the middle 8 section.

Very impressed though. Strong work, looking forward to the next!

word Trox. Loving the drum and bass inspired hats. I like the 2nd verse, i kinda wish the track started right there. getting the energy kicking right from the get go. It seems to lull a bit right at the drop. really like it though, very drum and bass influenced. is the track running at 77 bpm??

140 BPM

I chopped up a drum n bass beat called the boymerang, that you don't hear to often these days.... love that old loop.

Alot of changes have happened since I posted this version.  So the structure is quite different now, as well as the mixdown.

Stay chooned!

The production is really good and I dig the snarly wobbles, but it just got too repetitive and boring 2 minutes in. It needs some change or  evolution (not just a break), or even a trippy melody to keep my interest because there isn't enough happening or catching my ear to make me want to listen to this track more than a few times.

I waited till the song was finished to give it a listen and I think its a really good effort, you obviously know what you're doing production wise, but the song writing wasn't on the level I was expecting with the way you were over hyping it. Lots of potential there though to make it a great track.

I'll admit there isn't much of a melody going on in this tune to carry it's weight the whole way, but I think that there is a lot going on for any DJ to mix this in their set.  That's what my intention was when I made this.  "For the DJ, by a DJ".

I didn't mean to "hype it" as much as you said I did.  I was just excited because this is just the beginning of some new inspiration/production techniques that I have been working on as of late.

Thanks for the constructive criticism though, it is appreciated.

Glad I'm finished with this choon, so I can get moving with some of my other choons.
