Something wrong with criticism. Gave it a second listen on bigger speakers... and... I like the bass line. I just think you could do better.

Ha ha, no nothing wrong with criticism at all.  Actually I welcome it.  One could hope though if someones going to critique I'd hope they could add a little more to it then "so/so", thats all.  Thanks for the second response clarifying.

I'm still learning a lot when it comes to producing, 4 months ago just got a nice pair of studio monitors which is making a huge difference.

I've got a few others I'm working on currently as well as one with Phokus, one with Psylence and one with Ryan K.  No idea when they'll be finished but hopefully soon.

ok man Wink so listening now. sick percussion work and I like the mild break beat Wink the eq job is well done btw Wink hehe nice funky synth Wink sick ass change-ups btw Wink kinda dropped suddenly into the bridge but it's sick when the moods get dropped back in with the vox and the funky synth Smiley really diggin' the deep mood this track sets btw Smiley nice vox work btw Smiley again, really diggin' the change-ups Smiley so from what I heard this track is pretty much sickness hehe. I would suggest a few things but they aren't needed just personal taste. maybe add some more stabs and fx into your bridges and breakdowns to emphasize them more. also maybe add a second main synth to compliment the funky one Smiley something upfront so there is more action going on. but maybe you want that constant deep feel Wink and if so, I dig it Smiley

P.S. good track man Smiley

well... i gave it a listen. some constructive criticism:

it seemed a little repetitive. not much melodic content either... but maybe you were going for that. doesn't really have a variation on the theme either... like no change up in the middle. just personal preference, but i like when a song breaks in the middle and goes to something new, then returning to the original before ending. the tempo seemed a little slow, and made the song sound like it was dragging.

what style of music were you going for?

Your critique is appreciated Joe.

Several different reasons, one it confirms that I'm gettin what I want across. Secondly because you gave me some new ideas to work in.

The style if you could say that because I wasn't really shooting for anything in particular was a "mid-tempo, acid breaks kinda sound". I guess you could say.

Most Acid Breaks aren't highly melodic and are fairly repetitive with slight changes to sounds over time.

Tempo is supposed to be slower then normal hence being a mid tempo.  Not something someone would play at a rave necessarily or at peak time.  More of a chill area sound.

Thanks for listening and taking the time to give some critique.

yea, no problem. if the mid tempo and repetition is what you were aiming for, you hit right on.
